Virginia Beach hotel recs?

May be traveling through the area sometime in the coming month ... anyone have any recommendations? I've looked on hotels.com; would like some friendly recommendations from fellow Duers. My top first priority is cleanliness, and I'd love to be able to hear the ocean at night, if at all possible ... I'm a Pacific coast child who now lives in mountains, and I truly miss the sound of the ocean at night. Decent price would be nice, too, but from the looks of it off-season prices aren't bad. I just would like some help sifting through all the options. Thanks in advance for helpful input.

A couple of years ago I was there for a conference.

There's also a restaurant that has a name referencing a Beatles song right on the main drag that was nice too. There's was also this big ass diner with a Native American sounding name that was great for breakfast. I'm way too stoned to look it up now but I'll try tomorrow morning.

When I lived in Northern Virginia we'd go to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware and always stay in a private home. It was bare bones with the bathroom down the hall, but we only were there to sleep.
