Isn't it great looking at the nest after dark. My guess is because they haven't laid the eggs yet.

I have a flock of very small doves living (in a cage) in my dining room.
I can hear them cooing mating calls 24/7. They do mate at night ... as well as all day long.
Look at the time-lapse video lower down on the page. You'll see the adults rebuilding last year's nest.
Last time I looked ( 2 minutes ago) I could hear the wind. It's so cool having a bird's eye view.
