And nobody would tell the kids anything factual. Just slut-shaming and innuendo.

There wasn't much to it, but at least they gave you basic information on birth control rather than telling kids to stop fucking and asking your imaginary friend to somehow miracle that into working.

It was a joke and inaccurate slut shaming. Showed us movies that implied you could get VD from being sneezed on and virgins could get VD. Movie of Ann Landers telling us if a boy got in your pants he would throw you away like kleenex. If you kissed on a date you were a bad person. This was in the early 1970s. Shameful excuse for sex ed. I don't remember any facts. Just lies intended to scare you.

and in 8th grade the nuns put the boys in one classroom and the girls another. I'm not sure if there was a movie involved, all I do remember is the nuns telling us that if we loved someone we could get pregnant. Duh

...Richard and Jane today.

My now 23 yr old son had no idea that Dick had once been a very common nickname for Richard. This came to my attention when a Dick's Sporting Goods store opened near us when he was about 10. He looked at the store sign in great shock and wanted to know, "Why would anyone name a store THAT?"

Those were the most boring books, even when I was only 6.
