Feral cat about to give birth on Livestream (graphic)

Tinykittens is a Canadian cat rescue that Livestreams foster kittens (previously). Now playing: Sable and Neelix, a tortie and tabby tuxie respectively, both pregnant, with Sable due any day now. Right now, four feral cats are in residence at TKHQ, all of them from the same colony... and two former ferals waiting on adoption.

Now, Tinykittens HQ is home to four ferals: Neelix and Sable in one room, Fairy and Savina in the other. Both rooms have been kitted out as comfortably as possible for cats from the Happy Forest: ferns, cat trees, multiple nests, and occasional use of the catios. Neelix and Sable have proven slightly less upset by the inevitable hoomin intrusions to bring food and water and deal with the litter box. And to adjust the numerous cameras set up to try to cover every possible spot one of them might choose to give birth. Sable's due anytime now. Savina, on the other hand, has done very poorly with human contact and is being largely kept off the stream for now. Fairy, the newest arrival, has some injuries to her tail and seems to have a cleft palate. There's no guarantee that everything will go well; Shelly can't intervene with ferals in the case of an emergency the way she can with the tame cats.

...is totally captivating. I have spent countless hours there, totally entranced. The are people in the chat room, at times, from all around the globe. Really cool place.

Shelly, the woman who runs it, is amazing.

it's been part of my daily routine (since Eve and the Palindromes) to see what's happening at tinykittens. Shelly is so inspiring. I've seen people in chat from S. Africa, Australia, Scotland, France..... and of course all over the states and canada. pretty amazing.

More kittens coming soon too. (there goes my life..... who am I kidding, I don't care .... I love watching them)

enjoy!!!

She's suckling two orange tabbies, a darker kitty, and a clone of herself. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and conjecture that daddy might be an orange tabby.

was probably an orange tabby. LOL

aren't they adorable. and mama Sable looks like a teddy bear. I just want to hug her.

I'm sure Shelly must be dying to go in there and be with her..... but I don't think that's going to happen..... but we can hope, right?

And Neelix, the next mama to be, is so pretty, I always have hope these feral cats can be socialized.

enjoy!!

...my peds nurse practitioner job, I want to move to Langley and help Shelly take care of kittens.

There is a fair amount of crossover between pediatrics and veterinary care when dealing with very young kids - just like our furry friends, they can't talk to us, so we have to depend on parental observations as we try to figure out what is going on.
