religious/spiritual day for my family. The actual historic figure Patrick was an amazing man. He understood that the traditional culture in Ireland was far more "Christian" than Rome.

for me today has always been about family and friends... a well off friend of my dads rents a big suite at The Plaza overlooking 5th Ave.

Today I reflect on part of my family's journey. My grandfather arrived in New York at the age of 17 and shoveled coal for Brooklyn Edison.

Here he is in '37 (2nd from left) - a member of the Brooklyn Edison softball champions (my father would be born 2 years later):



With his father (my namesake) and siblings during one of his trips home:



I was fortunate to have him take me with him on his final trip to
Ireland when I was 16
