I have a pair of oldish Technics speakers - SB CR77. One of the tweeters is going out.
Since I can't afford new at this point, I'm thinking about just replacing the tweeters.
Here are the specs for the speakers
So I was thinking of getting something like this: http://www.parts-express.com/tymphany-h25tg05-08-1-titanium-dome-tweeter-with-waveguide-8-ohm--264-1381
????? Is this doable ?????

(38,322 posts)The problem could be in that, not the tweeter itself, possibly a bad capacitor.

(49,992 posts)I unplugged the tweeter and there is still a sort of distorted fuzzy sound. This might be out of my skill level.
At the very least it will have to wait until after tax time.
