Most of the "best" (note quote marks) are from micro-breweries. Appreciate any feed back if anyone has tried these - going out to find some of that Florida "best" beer

(14,400 posts)Most of these lists don't even know that CT has more than one brewery.
New England Brewing is very very good. G-bot is fantastic when you can find it in cans. It's not hard to get if you go to the brewery.
They have one that they roll out every now and again in the brewery only called Fuzzy Baby Ducks that will have people lined up for hours to get. It's incredible.

(14,400 posts)Rob Leonard, the owner of NEB, was the head brewer at New England Brewery in Norwalk until they ran into money problems. He bought them out and moved everything to Woodbridge. That was close to 15 years ago now I think.
I think he moved it there partly because it was closer to home and it was closer to New Haven and Central Connecticut.
They've really turned it into something, their beer is top notch. The wait to buy growlers, especially if Fuzzy Baby Ducks is on tap kind of kills the experience but they've recently done some upgrading so I'll have to see if the lines move a little faster.

(78,249 posts)That was 30 years ago. They were true pioneers. Second real beer I ever had. (Oddly enough, the first was SF's Anchor Steam, which somehow turned up at a convenience store right off Yale's campus!)

(12,132 posts)Funky Buddha is pretty good but nothing beats Cigar City. I always have Maduro or Jai Alai in the fridge (or both) and I go out of my way to find restaurants that serve Cigar City anything. When I found out the cruise ship we're going on in July serves Cigar City my vacation went from w00t! to WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I'm actually a native Floridian and I've lived in central Florida for 30+ years. I'll drink a Lone Star or a Shiner Bock when available but CC beer will always be near and dear to my heart.

(5,504 posts)They even had "The Alchemist" on there. I was afraid they would have "Blue Moon," "Sam Adams," etc.
For MN, also try Burning Brothers. Great brewery.
