Like I really needed another TV series addiction ... but my son talked about it for months so I checked it out. I'm hooked!

(46,715 posts)No fair cheating. You need to go in order to really connect with the characters to get the full effect when they die gruesome deaths and get reanimated as gruesome ghouls.

(21,977 posts)Lots of questions unanswered, like, where the hell did the zombies come from???? How long did Rick stay in the hospital before he woke up, and more importantly, how did he avoid being eaten while he was unconscious????
Acting is great. Characters are compelling. Story lines are good, once you suspend disbelief on the whole zombie thing.

Rick was out just long enough for everyone he loved to have cleared out. It couldn't have been more than a week or so because he would have starved to death otherwise. We are still learning things about zombies at the end of season 2 which suggests that the answer to your question might be something we haven't seen before. His buddy, Shane, thought to shove a gurney infront of Rick's door before he abandoned him. That's why the zombies didn't get him early on.

(4,851 posts)One thing that the producers of the series and the comic book (I've never read them, but they are mentioned in articles about the series all the time) are united on, they both agree to never talk about the cause of the zombie disease. Its just there. So don't hope for an answer to that. As for the rest of your questions, you will learn most of them over the first two seasons.
Its a great series so far. Only two seasons and its already one of my faves.
Enjoy it.

(10,575 posts)Especially the cdc episode was strange, " I stay and die, no I won't stay."
Sometimes the decisions make no sense at all. Like walking to the camp instead of stealing a car just like they did before.

(2,199 posts)tivo and watch it together. We are not very respectful, think Mystery Science Theater disrespect, but it is a fun series to follow and now we have to wait until the fall for the next episodes...bummer.

(4,310 posts)I'm an adult woman with grown kids and I'm so obsessed my
friends and family gave me all zombie gifts for christmas.
I always watch it on demand because i have to pause and get my
composure before watching the next scene.
The real treasure of this series is the relationships between the
living under unbelievable circumstances. I'm much more afraid
of the living than the zombies and next season I think they will
really get into that. Try to catch Talking Dead, the after show
that follows. Lot's of little insider stuff revealed.

It's storytelling at it's finest ever. And I tell people it isn't about the zombies as much as it's about the survivors stories.
Funny, in a class full of adults we were all asked to introduce ourselves and say something interesting about ourselves. When it came to my turn I told them my name and said I was a fan of the Walking Dead. About five people all reacted by saying, "yeah!" or something similar, showing they were fans too. I'm 63 years old by the way.
