Have you ever heard of beef intolerance?

Apparently, my wife has it. She has been plagued by stomach issues since she was a child- mostly vomiting. I started to see a pattern with it a while back. The problem comes and goes, but it looked to me like every time she got sick it was after she had consumed beef. I looked it up and read that sometimes the sickness won't happen until the day after the meat was consumed. It makes it hard to chase down what the cause is.

But allergies and food intolerance exist for probably nearly every food. So though it's probably rare, it looks like it exists.

Good luck to her.

I went Veggie a few years ago. Every now and then I'll eat beef, when I do I seem to feel sick and too full for days. Poultry or shell fish dosen't seem to give me the same issues.

The deciding factor for me when I decided to go mostly veggie was digestion issues. I try to stay away from it, but every now an then I crave a cheese burger. *blush*

She says she always feels sick after eating beef. But for her, she gets sick a few hours after eating it, and it lasts until the next day.

She didn't have it until she had her gallbladder removed. She grew up on beef (grew up on a farm) and had no issues as a child, but had her gallbladder removed when she was 21 and that's when her issues started.

I personally have always had problems with pork. Beef, I can eat LARGE amounts, even though I'm also without a gallbladder, and I never get sick. Pork though causes quite a bit of distress if I eat more than a tiny serving.

My brother cannot eat fish - anaphylactic allergy.

At family meals we almost always have to have chicken, as that's the only meat we can ALL eat, LOL.

Different people have different issues I guess.

I developed asthma the summer I turned 15. And I have developed multiple allergies since then, even though as a child I was perfectly healthy with zero allergies. I once had an online friend who developed an anaphylactic allergy to shellfish, even though she ate shrimp and lobster every chance she got. Then one day...she had a severe reaction at a lobster bake she attended every year and had to be hospitalized. Apparently even very serious food allergies can pop up out of the blue, even with a food we regularly eat. It kind of freaks me out when I think about it too much, LOL. I've had recent reactions to hazelnuts, which I've always enjoyed before. And because right now the theories are all over the place...eat it to build up tolerance or avoid it at all costs...what to do?

My #1 son gets tingling around the mouth when he eats anything with garlic--GARLIC! Try avoiding garlic.

Although people do outgrow allergies as well. My #2-son was allergic to strawberries and eggs when he was a toddler, and he's fine with both now. You never know.
