Imitation crabmeat

Is surami (the thick paste of minced fish that's later processed into imitation crabmeat and lobstermeat) the fish equivalent to pink slime?

That would be the kicker. Sausage has all sorts of body parts, but it is not a problem, it is the use of ammonia that seems so unhealthy.

Anytime, I see that a product has imitation crabmeat in it, I pass on it. If I am going to eat crab, I want the real thing.
