When I was a kid, we'd chuckle about it, but now that I'm middle-aged, it's actually a condition that's occurring with a sad frequency - does anyone have experience with regard to actually using marijuana as a treatment for glaucoma?
Want to know how effective you've found it, thanks.

(2,273 posts)And it works to lower your iop however it only lasts like 4 hours so then you need to smoke again, I would not recommend it over using your doctor prescribed eye drops. In conjunction with eye drops great but unless you want to be smoking it 5 times a day it's not the most efficient mode of treatment.

(3,065 posts)And I'm now glaucoma free.
That is, I think it was glaucoma.
I also had neuropathy in my right leg. The pot helped manage my pain very well because I refuse to take opiates. They upset my stomach so much that I needed weed to calm the nausea. I stayed on the weed, quit the oxy, and I was able to function. The weed didn't kill the pain, but made it more tolerable and I was able to eat without throwing it all back up. The leg pain has subsided but I still smoke the weed just in case.

(17,047 posts)Marijuana only helps with pain associated with glaucoma. It does not "cure" it.
Glaucoma needs ophthalmic meds and perhaps surgery under a skilled opthomologists care. Marijuana does not cure this and has never been proven to do so.
Sorry to bust the your bubble.
