(56,828 posts)that zombie apocalypse shows tend to illustrate how close society can be till civilization itself collapses. It also show the human drama of surviving against a mindless and relentless enemy and how people get by in that situation.
Why they make another show about it? Obviously for money - The Walking Dead is one of the highest rated shows on TV and is a big money maker for AMC. Nothing comes close to its ratings on AMC. So, they create another show about it set in a new location and hope to capitalize. Also, as an FYI, the post show discussion, Talking Dead, is AMC's second highest rated show - better ratings than critically acclaimed shows like Better Call Saul, Mad Men and Breaking Bad.

(56,828 posts)that is on my list of shows to watch, but I just haven't been able to squeeze it in yet.
But, I think it's all about show popularity - Game of Thrones is a pop culture phenomenon, and The Walking Dead has huge ratings.

(46,735 posts)Where do I begin?
Madison proves that she will do absolutely anything for her children. Though, killing Celia would have been more effective. Because, really, does anyone think she can't figure out another way out of her own wine cellar? And Daniel Salazar + Celia in the same wine cellar=nothing is over, even if it looks like its over. Ruben Blades suggests just the same. He is crazy, but will his instincts for survival kick in?
Chris and Travis taking a time-out. Good move. They need to reevaluate everything they ever knew before the apocalypse began. They probably will come out of it, somewhere in the middle.
Nick--Going where no one has ever gone before. Feeling more comfortable with zombies than with people.
Madison -- Time to let go of that young son, turned man, and trust that he will resolve whatever ails him.
Strand keeps the core together, driving Madison, Alicia and Ofelia to safety.

(90,773 posts)That is my take-away from tonight's episode.
If Nick really thinks he can splash on blood and become invincible then I kind of want him to be devoured by the dead.
Call the dead by name? OK...there's a skin flap we call Nick....because that's all that is left of him.
