1. My next house, no matter how small, is going to have a porch for sitting in the rain, maybe sleeping

My porch is too small to do anything but walk in the front door. But I get a lot of pleasure listening to the sounds out my library window...

3. My small dairy farm grandparents had a little house with a big porch and a swing I could lie in.

There was blinding rain coming down in sheets on my way home tonight, one road was blocked by fire trucks, must have been an accident, but it was tough to see with the rain and all the flashing lights. The firemen were directing traffic, but it was tough to see them, too, cars starting and stopping, not sure where to go, and someone on a bicycle was right in the middle of it. And farther on, there was fog. It was like a driver training film...
