Items that people post for sale, which don't make any sense.

My contribution: Asbestos kitchen mitts.

I got curious about the kitchen mitt my dog adopted as a play toy and is steadily tearing apart and was surprised to find a listing for sell.

Ummm ... if that's real asbestos, you definitely don't want the dog chewing it up. eppur_se_muova Jul 2016 #1

You don't want cancer-causing asbestos dust around. I'm amazed that thing is even legal.

chewing was all cotton.

I think people are selling old mittens. Like a retro item to add to your vintage collection.

On the other hand, I have donated some of my children's used clothing just to overhear some woman's comment that she couldn't understand why anyone would donate clothes with such signs of wear. The thing is, where I am from, Panama, I know that there are people that have absolutely nothing and children play in their underwear. They would be grateful for such things.

But, I took it as another example of cultural differences and, for a while, just stopped donating to these organizations. Instead, I boxed things up and sent them to my siblings who were just a few years behind me in their child rearing years. They didn't complain and were happy to receive the clothing.
