It's 10-20.

10-4 was Broderick Crawford Day.
I guess that to answer my question, I need to say, "Washington, DC" (at work) and "Alexandria, Virginia" at home.

(24,371 posts)still think it is OK to say "10-4, good buddy".
It's not. A "good buddy" is a pejorative for a homosexual and the trucking industry is not only overwhelmingly populated by morons, they tend to be homophobic as well. For the record, I am a member of the industry and have been for most of my adult life. I know of what I speak.
The larger point is, that term is just simply not used by truckers on the Citizens Band any longer and hasn't been commonly used for 30 years, since shortly after the movie "Convoy" came out.
