back (and broken hearted) after a long long absence

Last edited Sun Nov 20, 2016, 01:52 AM - Edit history (1)

this is a hard post for me to write, i used to post quite a bit back in the bush days and i am not sure exactly why i stopped. i was dwelling quite a bit on facebook, but am so disappointed with people either being pro T or apathetic or resigned. i know it is said that you should not hang out in an echo chamber, but right now, that is exactly what i need. I didn't sleep for a good week after the election.

i am so mad at everyone. i am mad at myself because i thought the election was a sure thing, i didn't doorbell, i didn't phone bank. i am mad at others for not coalescing around our candidate once it was settled, i am mad at some of my family for not seeing thru the racist dog whistles trump threw out, i am mad at anyone who accepts, without question, a trump admin where racism/sexism is the new normal. I know the usual answer is to let your anger turn into action, and at some point down the road, I will start going to my dem meetings (I let that go too), but right now i just want to be gentle with myself, indulge in some self care and be around like minded folks.

Thanks for letting me vent, and peace out.

others think we lost a battle, and i feel like we lost the war (supreme court) and I KNOW that type of thinking does not fix anything, so i am here to recharge and brainstorm on what is next

thanks for the replies, i love you all

And I think she would have won the election but for the shady dealings going on with Russia/unknown others

I know that in normal times I would sound like but a number of high-ranking officials also have their suspicions.

And also remember this horror happened only last week-- we need to give ourselves time to absorb the shock. I'm sure I'm still in denial.

And don't watch the news!!!

Hang in there, AmandaRuth, and welcome back
