How about "Caroline, No?"

I love "Don't Worry Baby" in spite of the fact that it is about a kid afraid to drag race. Really, son, if it bothers you so much, don't frickin' race. But the melody and harmony are great. (I'd say that the main difference between the Beach Fellas and those guys from Liverpool is that the latter usually have pretty good lyrics to their songs. I mean, seriously, Wilson and Love did a song called "The Shift.&quot

And I think It's OK and Palisades Park from 15 Big Ones are a bit underrated.

Be True to Your School makes me very nostalgic.

And Kokomo always puts me in a good mood.

I'd totally forgotten about that one.

Palisades Park was recorded by Freddy Cannon (written by Chuck Barris)

On 15 Big Ones (an album with mostly covers, but a few originals):

I've always been surprised that Chuck Barris (not Chuck Berry) wrote it!

The first time I heard this song was at the Smile concert Brian Wilson did at the Hollywood Bowl in 2005. He introduced it as a song he co-wrote with his dad. There was an awkward silence from the audience, probably thinking about how abusive his dad was, but he then he launched into the song and everyone loved it.

Heroes and Villains for its composition and unique bridge comes close, but Little Surfer Girl's sweet harmonies and melancholy melody gets me singing against my will every single time.

Sloop John B is not an original Beach Boys song.

It's a traditional folk song called "The John B Sails."

Brian Wilson based his version of Sloop John B on the 1958 cover of the song done by the Kingston Trio, called
"The Wreck of the John B"

Wilson took some liberties with the song's arrangement, and changed a few lyrics.
"The poor cook he caught the fits
And threw away all of my grits
And then he took and ate up all of my corn"

It was Beach Boy Al Jardine who convinced Brian to do the song.
Brian's first response was "I'm not a big fan of The Kingston Trio."

The idea stage to the completed track took less than 24 hours.
