Word has adjustable settings for auto save. It can kick in every 30 seconds if you like.
And do you know that every time you hit Control + Z it restores the page to where it was before the last commands?

Those are future ideas, dialogue for a different scene.
I assume you write by the seat of your pants (a pantser) instead of a plotter (with an outline)?
