(2,560 posts)He wrestled as a brutish, grunting, inarticulate heel. But he did grant an interview at home, where he revealed he was a quiet, intelligent guy who had a sense of humour and enjoyed classical music. Don't think I'd have picked a fight with him, though.
One of my favourites. RIP, big fella.

(38,458 posts)Steele's opponent had the ability to twist his arm all the way around. Steele and this guy had numerous matches like this one with the same script. Wrestling at it's finest.

(2,252 posts)he was a great showman. The announcer for the video above is Vince McMahon Jr. His wife is now the small business czar for fake president #45. Waiting for WWE fans to start boycotting the federation since it is their hard earned money being used to buy power positions in #45's White House. Just a 5 million dollar donation of WWE fans money by Linda McMahon turned the trick.

RIP George Steele and all the others.

(17,305 posts)Love that movie. Although fictional, that scene with the aging veteran and retired wrestlers gathered in the banquet room for a fan meet-and-greet/autograph session sadly was reflective of what many former "wrasslers" go through -- long forgotten. Many don't even live long enough to see those golden years. So many premature deaths due to rampant steroid abuse and pain-killer addictions.

(2,252 posts)it seems more wrestlers die young than rock stars do, just saying.
