Wasn't unexpected as She has been in Hospice. They pulled her blood thinners and insulin last tuesday. The doctors gave her 24 hrs or less, and she defied them by holding on for four days. She is 74 years young.
The whole family is here, children (3), grandchildren(7) and great grandchildren(5). We all loved her and she will be sorely missed.
She is with Dad now.
Rest in Peace Mom.

(37,540 posts)Losing the 2nd parent is sad and strange...Sad for the immediate loss, certainly and strange in that you're on your own - no parent to be there to judge or advise or be the parent influence in your life anymore. It's liberating for some, terrifying for others.

(53,410 posts)My mother died in 2010 while in home hospice. The palliative care staff have gotta have the fastrack to heaven. No need to stop or pay tolls. Straight to Heaven. I'm sure they made her last days as good as they could possibly be.
It's a sad time.

My Dad was 49, when he died 17 years ago. My Mom is now 67, and in the same process. We have home hospice right now.
