I weighed 125 pounds when I got married. Sitting on about 230 now. 3 and half pounds a year doesn't sound like much but it adds up...

Fantasy land: After we got engaged she once said "now I just cook what I like so if you don't like something the way I cook it you have to let me know or else I'll just keep cooking it."
Real life: Nope. you cannot tell her you don't like something she cooked. At least, not that early - now it's pretty easy.
we mostly eat out now.

(17,314 posts)packs so many extra calories due to rich ingredients and large portions. That could easily account for 3.5 pounds per year. Besides, it's expensive.
But it suits a lot of folks' lifestyles, so it's more and more common.
