Hardly anybody there, you can sit wherever you want, nobody bothers you.
No teens or kids either.
Also most theaters have matinee discounts for the earlier shows.
This movie trailer looks good, and John Goodman is definitely a plus.
Yesterday I went to see the new Kong movie at 12 noon at the Loews theater. (Tickets were $7.50)
Maybe 5 people in the theater besides my group. It's definitely better on the big screen, and it helps if the theater has a good sound system.
Don't avoid the better theaters, but just come to a less crowded showing and get a discount on the ticket.
When I'm retired, I'll go to early shows on weekdays, and probably nobody will be in the theater.

(20,211 posts)If it's not a big film, or even a big film in its 3rd or 4th week, you may have the theater all to yourself. I saw 50/50 with Joseph Gordon Levitt that way. I was the only person in the theater.

And here I was thinking it was a biopic about Debbie Harry, which could be great and which I WOULD pay to see in a theater.

(5,914 posts)You're right. That was unfair of me. I should have given it a chance.
My opinion, though, is unchanged. How many goddam times are they going to remake La Femme Nikita?
