(14,449 posts)The only problem is you are only about 4 episodes behind. Not much of a binge.
I hope others have better suggestions then I did.

(6,262 posts)Especially the season with Mags and her "apple pie."

(12,132 posts)It's pretty delicious - it's not really moonshine since they sell it in a liquor store lol.
You can make a really nice cocktail with apple pie moonshine and hard (alcoholic) Ginger Ale (several brands out there but I like Henry's for that.)

(7,581 posts)I like detectives but with humor.
CherokeeDem
(3,709 posts)Definitely nothing humorous about it but excellently written and acted.
You might like Midsomer Murder.... also on Netflix.... great murder/detective series.... a bit lighter. One of my favorites.

(4,227 posts)We are now watching Midsomer Murders for the second time. Foyle's War is amazing...a detective show set during WW II. We never watched much TV but now it keeps us going.

Doc Martin is a British television medical comedy drama series starring Martin Clunes. It's set in a wonderful
seaside village. I just learned they will be making an 8th and 9th Season.

(9,033 posts)I know my friends who are diehard fans of the books prefer the episodes that focus more on cases, but for me the attraction was always the interaction between the two of them. Another favorite scene was Sherlock, back from the dead, posing as a waiter (Surprise us! I'm certainly endeavoring to.).
Ah, good times. I fear it is over though--they wrapped a lot of plot lines and didn't have a cliffhanger this time.

(16,230 posts)The title refers to one particular character, but really it's about a Chicago law firm, it's up and downs, and the various people it defends. Lots of courtroom scenes and lots of legal and personal maneuvering. The series ended but the complete series is available on CBS All Access.
Also, its sequel, The Good Fight, is on CBS All Access. The first 5 episodes are available now with a new one every Sunday.

(1,542 posts)... stars Steven Van Zandt, and even though it's unrelated, I just can't help not seeing this show as Silvio Dante from the Sopranos family in witness protection in Norway. It's ironically hilarious...

(3 posts)Most of them are no longer being aired....Justified, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, etc...I'd have to add "Sons of Anarchy" to the general main list as posted by most in this thread (interesting how many of the suggested shows are on either FX or AMC!).
Maybe "Better Call Saul" will be up the OP's alley....spin-off of Breaking Bad. Drama with humor.
Current shows I have enjoyed are Preacher (definitely a unique blend of humor and drama, and very off- beat). I think "The Americans" is among the best shows ever, and is currently on the air - "Preacher" is available (first season) on FX on Demand (I think it's free on-line?). The second season is coming up soon.
"Taken" has caught my attention. Lots of intense drama, but no real humor. "Prison Break" is being "resurrected"...(like "24" with "24 Legacy" ...but unlike "24", it's coming back with the same cast. I also like the fact that "Prison Break" doesn't go on indefinitely - it's a story with a beginning, middle and end. I looked forward to the new episodes (always had "cliffhanger" endings weekly) and was sort of sorry it came to an end. But if they can match the writing of the first story, this redux would seem likely to be very good as well.
The New York Times said of the original "24" when it first came on the air that it "may be the greatest TV show ever" (to paraphrase ...close as I can remember, anyway)
The sequel has been good, but not quite on par with the original...but it may get better after the characters are developed. The original had Keifer Southerland (now in "Designated Survivor" which is surprisingly good for a network show IMO) - and it had a mind blowing tfirst episode that may never be matched (also the most intense scene in another episode (likely in another "day" that I've ever seen on TV when "Jack" had to kill a friend and a coworker - who knew what was coming - in order to prevent a massive terror attack. He closed his eyes and said "God help me" and pulled the trigger. A big shock since it seems the good guys always figure out a way to get around the demands of terrorist. Not that time!!
The most watched TV show right now is "The Walking Dead" - and it's understandable why.... zombie show that's about far more than zombies...IMO an ongoing series of stories and back-stories about society and sociology and philosophy...(Zombie show for grownups).....some humor, but not like Breaking Bad (one of my all-time favorites).
AMC seems to have some of the best series of the past decade or so...less censorship and greater opportunity to "stretch the envelope". (Breaking Bad among their hits).

(205,972 posts)It was created by Garry Trudeau, both funny and well done, one of my favorites - keep hoping they'll come up with another season!

(17,216 posts)Kind of the grandpappy of ensemble cop shows. It definitely had its humorous moments, and the ensemble was great.
It's weird watching it now and realizing that law enforcement apparently thought Howard Hunter was the very model of what a policeman should be.
