She's not in active labor, yet, but the vet is now saying to get excited because the birth will happen "within the coming days". No kidding!! That's kind of been the story, for the past month!!

I'm sure hoping it happens tonight.

For days now I keep thinking I see contractions, although it could just be fetal movements.

I expect a calf, we get a poo.

At night I flip back and forth between her live feed and the Safari Live broadcast, until I fall asleep - usually with the giraffe cam still up.

a month ago? Poor April. I swear it looks like that calf is going to rip right through her abdomen. It gets closer to the ground every day.

I'm kind of starting to feel like she represents the Russia/maggot conspiracy, crime investigation. Never ending.

I just think it would be so fitting that as her name is April, she have the calf in April. Maybe that's what she planned all along. The park folks said from the beginning they weren't sure just when her pregnancy began and were basing their predictions on the physical signs she was displaying. But I'm sure she'll be glad when it's over.

Or maybe not. Haven't shaved in a while!
