Well, not us the humans, but rather our avian neighbor, Mrs. Robin.
I first noticed a nest being built in the bush by our back door a couple of weeks ago and I started paying attention around then. I made sure to check the nest after its completion and whaddaya know, Mrs Robin was having 3 babies!

Look at how beautiful those eggs are! It wasn't until 2 weeks later of watching this momma bird sitting on her eggs that they were born and here's the picture I got today!

Damn they ugly! But I'll keep checking on these little chicks as they grow. Just the other day I watched momma bird bring a freshly caught worm to them. So awesome!

(70,132 posts)the ones that build a nest every year in my grape arbor.
the vine is over 20 years old, and i have had grapes once. the other years the robin feeds them to the well timed 2nd clutch. they dont mind that they arent ripe, whereas i prefer mine that way.
i blamed it on squirrels for a long time, till i noticed the nest.

(101 posts)We have a birdhouse outside our living room windows and bluebirds have nested there. We're enjoying watching the mom and dad come and go. Today we saw them carrying shells away so I guess they're hatched. Because they're in a birdhouse, we can't actually see the babies.
Those robin eggs sure are blue! Thanks for sharing.

(29,674 posts)Our robin has finally won the platform to make her nest. I posted here last week that a morning dove was eyeing the platform as well, but the robin won out, and her nest is all ready for her and her family. What a beautiful photo of your nest and babies.
