there and was going to walk home. The straight line to my house goes through a rough part of town. The only other ways through are both out of the way. I thought better of it the night before and brought change for the bus. Turns out somebody was murdered on the sidewalk at the exact same time I would have been walking by. Pretty awful. Vibes to their family. Thank god i paid attention to my ptsd and took the safe way home. Even though i really wanted to walk. Even though I felt like a chicken when I got to the bus. I followed my gut.

My intuition told me to not take a particular job but I took it anyway. Biggest mistake of my life.
Glad you are OK and you listened to you intuition.

If you want to avoid trouble, stay away from the places where trouble hangs out.

Do train and be prepared for the inevitable, when that happens, however.

I'm glad you listened, applegrove.

(31,408 posts)I, too, have learned to pay attention to my intuition, gut, instinct, whatever you want to call it. And once, it involved not going on a trip
that we'd scheduled and foregoing the cost of the airfare. Turned out to be the right call, because we would have been in Vienna when
Chernobyl blew and I would have gotten a huge dose of radiation when I was 5 months pregnant and who knows what effect
that might have had on the fetus?
There have been lots of other times when I was glad I paid attention to my inner voice, but that's the really big one in my life.
