Question for NYC folks?

What has been your experience for when the leaves turn in Central Park? A google search says it could be late October.

Second, any recommendation for hotels in the Central Park area. I know that everything is pricey, but you NYCers might know of a gem or two.

Thanks much.

1. I'd say third week in October is usually nice. And yeah, it's expensive near the park.

But NYC is narrow east west so they'll be a lot of walkable options. A park view- will be super expensive.
