Is anyone using Consumer Cellular for cell phone service?

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]My kids and I have shared a family voice/text/data plan with AT&T for nearly 15 years, but now that they're adults and questioning whether they'd like to independently try other carriers, I'm looking around myself. The latest AARP newsletter had a big ad for Consumer Cellular service with really great prices. Their service area maps show pretty much total coverage nationwide and they say they've received top service awards 2 years running.

Is anyone here actually using Consumer Cellular in northern California (Sacramento area)? Do you find its connections reliable and of good quality? I tried Credo a few years ago, which piggybacks on Sprint, and it had very spotty coverage in my area, so I dropped it.

Thanks for reading and commenting!

I was just reading that they use AT&T towers, so the coverage here should be equivalent to what I already have. Customer reviews are mixed, of course, so I'm trying to suss out any potential problems before I take the leap.

Mobile Virtual Network Operator and they basically purchase service from one of the three major carriers and resell them back to consumers. I don't know which network they run on but its either Sprint, AT&T, or T-Mobile. Verizon rarely resell their network time. I would recommend T-mobile over Consumer Cellular.

I'm already with AT&T and reading the FAQ, I should be able to easily switch my AT&T phone over to Consumer Cellular -- I hope.

Thanks for the technical information!
