When do you like to take a shower?
A. Morning
B. Night
C. Don't care or don't have a choice because of crazy work hours or lot of people in the house and one bathroom.
Personally, I like to shower in the morning. i naturally wake up early.

(205,922 posts)Wakes me up and I'm "clean" for the day. My Dad always took one at night which I never understood, but it may have meant he didn't have to get up as early - or habit.

(426 posts)....Can't stand to shower and then go to bed. I'm itchy and irritated all night. Even with applying lots of body lotion. It didn't bother me as a kid, though. Must be an adult thing.

(7,911 posts)Then the next day, I shower on Thursday.
And so on through the week.
In the morning.
But after breakfast, and after I check my email and browse the morning news on the Interwebs.
O.K., not always in the morning, but never later than 1:00 PM or so.
O.K., not always by 1:00 PM when I start the day with a lot of yard work. Then I postpone the shower till after the yard work.
But if I work late, then I shower before bed and skip the following morning.

(3,275 posts)Which gives me time in the morning before work to get ready. Of course, my kittens keep trying to get me up earlier for their breakfast. Thanks for the compliment Wawannabe.

(47,564 posts)Once I got used to going to bed clean, it was impossible for me to go back. (During a heat wave I'll take another quick shower in the morning if I wake up sweaty.)
For a long time I showered at night on school nights and in the morning on weekends. But then I eventually realized I wasn't showering on Fridays, and that's just gross. Now it's every night, and again in the morning if needed.

(9,808 posts)I work from home most of the time. I've got a routine where I do all my grubby stuff (exercise, chores) in the mornings while I'm waiting for data dumps and for the data processing. Sometimes I remember to get in the shower before I dive in, but realistically? The data tends to be so interesting I get sucked in. I usually get deep in the data between 10am and 2-3 pm.
The shower happens in the afternoon when I need to brain-brake anyway, and because I don't want my spouse -- who doesn't work at home -- to know that I'm actually a grubby slacker who doesn't bathe. I mean, he knows that because we've been together for a long time and he knows I'm not a morning person and have the sort of ADD that toggles (either SQUIRREL!!! or hyperfocus - I have no medium setting) but we have a conspiracy where I don't stink when he gets home, and he doesn't mention that my hair is wet.
If I have to be on campus, I mainline some caffeine and pretend I'm a normal person.
Mid-afternoon seems to be a good compromise for me, personally. I feel clean enough to go to bed, and don't wake up sticky or oily.

(38,325 posts)Camping in the desert with only enough water for drinking and cooking doesn't bother me, I've gone weeks like that, doing field work in biology and geology.
When I was a kid we'd stay at my great grandma's house, which was on a remote ranch. She didn't have indoor plumbing so bathing was a huge chore. First you chopped the wood... You carried in the water and heated it on the wood stove... Bathing once a week was about all anyone managed.
For a time I lived near the ocean. I used to run every day and then swim in the ocean. I'd get out of the water and air dry if it wasn't too cold. After I brushed the sand and salt crystals off of myself I usually felt presentable enough without a shower.

(24,032 posts)...if circumstances warrant it.
Work days (W&F) or any day I have to be out in public for any reason - always in the morning. Can't go to work with bedhead and a shower gets me primed for the day.
Morning workout days (M&Th) - shower after.
Evening workout (Tues) - usually by midmorning so I feel clean for most of the day/ often at least a hose down afterwards. I don't like to go to bed in dried sweat.
