A friend of my grandson's invited him to go to a local fair, but he didn't have any appropriate clothing to wear. As a long-time community theater buff who usually supplied my own costumes, I had just the items he needed. A white, full-sleeved shirt with ruffled cuffs, a nice period-style vest, and some high-topped leather riding boots. He is supplying the tights, and it's off he goes...

I'm just kidding. I have attended the RenFair near us several times, never in costume. I would not where a dueling sword as there is some genetic thing in me that could get serious. I don't know exactly why but my family history is full of sword "play" and duels to the death. Best leave those things in a museum.

The loser gets Pittsburgh. Out west, in the SCA, going to Pennsic is like going to Mecca. You have a special status for the rest of your life.
