Seriously, though, it is a spectacular bloom but a real pain to clear, come late Autumn. A few years back, I had one sprout up in the middle of my driveway, and right next to the garage door. I should have pulled it out but it was so beautiful, I didn't park the car in the garage, all Summer long.

one has seed pods like yours and the other has somewhat smaller pods, fewer spikes but longer and sharper - quite wicked looking. They both get eaten by these weird beetle things that look like small grey caterpillars. And the plants stink, but the flowers are truly beautiful.
