The other day, when he was talking about presidents, he went back as far as President Obama - and then stopped. And it dawned on me that he probably couldn't go any farther. I can certainly name all the presidents in my lifetime - and some pretty famous ones from before, FDR, Truman, TR, Wilson, most of us can. I'm surprised when Trump referred to Lincoln, he didn't say he was "being recognized more and more..."

I can't do that, but I certainly can go back well before my lifetime - and I know I've heard of all of them, either in school or just from life experiences, books, movies, documentaries. I live near the sites of several Revolutionary War battles and my grandmother was big on taking us to visit museums and historical sites. And I also knew that nazis were the "bad guys" from a pretty young age.

From what we've observed about Trump, I can't help wondering if he ever took a single history course. He was born just after WWII, so someone must have mentioned it! But it appeared to me that he got stuck naming any U.S. president before Obama...
