trazodone use and withdrawal

Anyone here have an experience with this drug?
I quit it nearly 4 weeks ago after using it for 17 days. Wondering if I might still be experiencing withdrawal?
Have not been able to shake anxiety since going off.

especially only after 17 days. Trazodone isn't thought to require much of a weaning period. Trazodone is not only an anti depressant, it can function as an anti anxiety medication. If it doesn't go away soon I'd bring it up with a doctor.

People with major depression shouldn't stop it suddenly without being monitored closely, but that's more because of the underlying illness than the drug, itself.

Depression? Did you have anxiety beforehand? It was given to me to help with insomnia due to anxiety. Trazodone is an anti-depressant, and doesn't have the tendency to dependency that benzodiazepines do. You should not be having withdrawals a month post use for an anti-depressant, especially such short term use.

I did take xanax before that for 10 days but had quit that for over 3 weeks before using the trazodone.
Started using xanax due to upcoming hernia surgery. Then went on trazodone due to ongoing vitreal detachment and post surgical issues. Now anxiety is just about sleeping and girlfriend's reaction to my problem. Thinking about using the trazodone again but my doc just said to increase my testosterone cream. I get hooked on things pretty easily I think due to personality and age. Normally very active but activity level down significantly

Originally prescribed for sleep problems. I went on a weeklong trip once and forgot to bring it. Never noticed any difference with not taking it and didn't take it again after I got back.

But I took it for about 5-7 years when I was in my forties.
When I didn't have any insomnia problem after I accidently had to go a week without it I just decided to quit taking it.

I am 71. I am an ex-triathlete and used to being very active. Had hernia surgery and had to restrict my activity both before and even more afterward for nearly a month. I also took xanax for 10 days before my surgery. about 3 weeks later some events in my life reignited my anxiety etc at which time I began trazodone (which I took 17 days as I mentioned). Now I am still experiencing significant anxiety and mild depression (stressed my low back about 9 days ago). After consultation with a counselor and a couple of pharmacists decided to be easy on myself and use it again as needed for awhile longer.

Drugs I use every day. I take a 10 mg diazapam, valium during the day and a trazodone as a sleeping pill at night. Haven't tried to quit. Looks like I'm on those, and 4 other meds for the long term, ATM.
