My god it was one of the best experiences I've ever had watching a musical. The music was amazing, the actors in it were amazing, words can't describe it until you see it live. Oh and the soundtrack doesn't really do it justice once you've seen it with a full band backing the actors. If you ever get the chance it's totally worth it.

(4,613 posts)I prefer more lyrical melodies..ala Rodgers and Hammerstein or Lerner and Loewe..not really onboard with any of the newer composers

(13,776 posts)Usually, if a play is highly regarded I really enjoy it (even if I thought i wouldn't like it and resisted going).

(100,081 posts)I have the soundtrack and have listened to it multiple times so I knew what was coming but hearing it performed live doesn't do the soundtrack justice.

Paying scalper ticket prices though blows.

(12,132 posts)We really want to take our granddaughters. They love the soundtrack. Is gonna still out so fast we are thinking of becoming members so we can get advance ticket sales. 75 bucks a year to get a shot at tix 2 days before general public. I think it'll be worth it as I'm seeing Willie Nelson there in a couple weeks and there's other shows, band, orchestras, etc that we'd be interested in.
