This was in my email today:
Sign the letter: Workers' rights are human rights!
My name is Amber Diaz and for 8 years I worked for T-Mobile US in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was a top performer at my call center, but when I tried to organize a union, T-Mobile fired me.
No one deserves to live in fear for their job for trying to organize for a voice and a better future for their family. Companies like T-Mobile need to respect workers rights to organize for a fair share.
Thats why were asking T-Mobile to start reporting on human rights compliance throughout the organization - in line with United Nations principles.
My case is not unique. The National Labor Relations Board has repeatedly issued complaints against T-Mobile US for illegally firing and disciplining workers in stores and call centers nationwide, and the Board recently consolidated several cases alleging that the company is systematically violating labor rights.
Will you join me and add your name to a letter urging Deutsche Telekom to do the right thing?
Thank you for your support,
Amber Diaz, Albuquerque, New Mexico
During the upcoming T-Mobile shareholder meeting on June 5, we urge Deutsche Telekom to vote its shares in favor of Proposal #4 that calls on the T-Mobile Board of Directors to report to shareholders on human rights compliance of both the company as well as its vendors in accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
