You have to look and ask

Went out this morning to the sales. Gone for 2 hrs and made more in those 2 hrs than I'd make in 3 days at my old part time job.

1st stop, an hour before they were to open and got a beautiful flat top trunk with liner shelf and all the hardware and leather for $35.

2nd stop, a half hour before they were to open. Very high prices, for me. They also had a trunk like the one I just bought for $75 and I didn't buy it, but I did look inside and found a nice wool blanket. What da ya want for this, says. She says a couple of bucks and I jumped on it.

exactly like this one and still had the Penneys tag for $150 on the bag it was in.

Last stop. Found an old, very nice bike horn for half a dollar. Was looking for one for my 1950s scooter I just restored. The I ask "got any old instruments" she says yes but it's not for sale. I say "what is it and what's your not for sale price". She went in and brought out a 1958 Silverton arch top guitar in great condition in a nice Gibson case. She said what would I pay and I said $75. She said "no no" I say $100 and she says yes. This looks like the very one I got.

it would be very unusual for a blanket to be $150 in the 1940s. grasswire Jun 2014 #3
Yep thought about that safeinOhio Jun 2014 #4

Nigh on impossible, I would say. Especially a J.C. Penney label, which is a middle brand.

The design copies that of the old Hudson Bay blankets.

Still, you got a very good deal for $2!

The label had J.C. Penney on it, but the clear zip up bag it was in had the $150. on it and no store name on it and looked to be an older type tag. I was kind of going by one I saw on Itsy that had the same label and said it was from the 40s. It was $75. in that ad. I'm pretty sure it will go fast if I price it at 35 or 40. Looking all over the NET I've seen prices from 35 to 250 for that brand. On sold items on ebay, from 30 to 80 dep on condition, etc.
