Great finds, almost any where.

My new job in the antique mall is great fun. Walk around, opening cases, talking to folks and helping carry out those large items. Hours of walking around with my big ring of keys, jingling by my side, I have lots of time to look at everything.

I noticed, hiding at the bottom of a case, a salt glazed stein with a pewter lid. Not the fancy type with castles and writing on it. Just a plain grey, short, round, squatty type with some raised turquoise flowers on it. It was slow the other day so I took it out for a look. Some numbers on the bottom and a price of $12. Used my discount and got it for $11.

After carefully looking I did find 4 letters on the hinge. Looked em up and found the company went out of business in 1909, started in 1850. This look to be a very early one.

Have to do more research, but I'm guessing $65 to $150.

Some things are hiding in plain site. This mall is on a major freeway with hundreds of visitors every day.

If you wish to find a great deal on a piece of china, look in the booth with mostly tools in it.
