I could watch Dinner at Eight and Topper a thousand times and still enjoy every minute. The Barrymores, and Jean Harlow in the same picture! She steals the show but there are at least five other timeless performances in one small film. Early Cukor at his very best!
And then Cary Grant and Constance Bennett at their most beautiful and magical singing to Hoagy Carmichael at the piano! Old Man Moon! Now that's a cool night out.

In film school they always point out the fact the screenwriter adapted a famous story and gave it a fresh setting as a way to suggest one method of coming up with new material.
