(40,416 posts)Oh my! Where to start?
It would be best to just DVR them all.
Stand-outs:
* 2001 -- of course
* The Time Machine -- great H G Wells!
* The Enemy Below -- plot reused in Star Trek "Balance of Terror" episode from the original TV series.
* Logan's Run -- special effects day means lots of SciFi
* The Poseidon Adventure -- Shelley Winters was robbed of an Oscar. She apparently did her own stunts.
* The Music Box -- A must see. Rolling in the aisle hilarious.

(51,627 posts)I said to myself, "2001 A Space Odyssey" had better be on this list. GOOD! It is.
I read that when Rock Hudson saw its preview he left the theater saying, "What the Hell was that". I saw it on a huge round dome screen at a Space Theater (Omni Max) and had to sit in the first row since the seats were filled. It was fantastic! I also had eaten mushrooms hours earlier and it added to the overall visual impact.

(51,627 posts)is similar. It was playing at my Art School for free and my friend's band was playing downstairs. I bounced back and forth between the show and the movie and it was so incredible I sat through it twice. I've seen it since and it is never the same...how could it be though?
