but it seems that Foxtel's contract for most of the Eddy/McDonald films has expired. Why they can't enter into a new contract is beyond my understanding, but the only films regularly screened now featuring the two of them are Sweethearts (enjoyable, particularly for the witty Dorothy Parker/Alan Campbell script and supporting players like Frank Morgan and Herman Bing), and Bitter Sweet, which I'm afraid I don't care for (I'm afraid they just didn't have the right style for Coward, much as I love them).

I do think that on the whole, Jeanette did her best work with Nelson Eddy - she sang better with him than with anyone else, and the chemistry between them was extraordinary. But I do believe in the love affair, so perhaps I have some bias.
