I thought the piano part was difficult (it sits on the shelf for now) and then a very fine pianist (Was it Christopher O'Reilly?) say that this was a real challenge.

In searching for this, I found a performance of the second movement

The sound comes from soundcloud, and, without using the good speakers, does sound more open than YT (perhaps I am taking some default).

I really do recommend using the best speakers you can get (or headphones?) since this has an enormous effect on the sound.

Sean Bianco of the now defunct "At the Opera" program said the same.

The last movement of the Franck sonata in A was the theme song for a radio program in the distant past. So was Rachmaninoff's Second symphony, slow movement. These are unforgettable, of course.

The slow movement is in A major, while the piece is in e minor.

I recall a piano concerto with a surprise clarinet solo. Probably the Rach 2. If another pops into memory, I'll post.

Another selection by Franck was played on our local university station, but I felt it kinda heavy. So posted this one in place of. Music affects me strongly. Esp. bc of the state I been in lately.
