The Leaves - Hey Joe

Frat brothers started a band to play parties. Interesting that most members have gone hippie, but the one guy with rhythm guitar is still in 1962 dress. Bass player Jim Pons on the left joined the Turtles and then the Mothers of Invention, then Flo and Eddie, the two singers in Turtles, and then the Mothers are Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan. Turtles had a lot of big hits 1965 to 1970 4 or so. I'm gonna post a nice Flo and Eddie song now.

It's protopunk.
Interesting though, is that just before the 3rd verse it sounded just like "Feel A Whole Lot Better" by The Byrds. With less finesse, obviously!
Boy, that version is RAW!

I loved the Byrds then and now, but I just can't listen to the violent misogynistic lyrics of this song now, regardless of who does it.
