💋 Rita Hayworth (b. Oct. 17, 1918 May 14, 1987) achieved fame during the Golden Age of Hollywood. She was called "The Love Goddess" after becoming the most glamorous screen idol of the 1940s. She was the top pin-up girl for GIs during WWII. Hayworth was born as Margarita Carmen Cansino in Brooklyn, NY, the oldest child of 2 dancers. Her father, Eduardo Cansino, was of Spanish Roma/Gitano descent from near Seville, Spain. Her mother, Volga Hayworth, was an American of Irish and English descent who had performed with the Ziegfeld Follies. Hayworth was a Democrat. Her marriages included husbands Orson Welles, Prince Aly Khan and Dick Haymes.
In 1980, Hayworth was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. She died in 1987 at the age of 68. The public disclosure & discussion of her illness drew attention to Alzheimer's & helped to increase public & private funding for research into the disease...

dancing and tropical themes. I've been to Rio and Mexico once, briefly, and have seen a good deal of the Caribbean. Luv the natural beauty and culture, and margaritas!
