'Rock & Roll Isn't About Age': Ian Hunter Marches On with Star-Studded New Album, 'Defiance Part 2'

From Rock Cellar magazine:

https://rockcellarmagazine.com/ian-hunter-interview-defiance-part-2-new-album-classic-rock/

Rock Cellar: Why did you decide to title your last two albums Defiance 1 and 2? What does the term mean in the context of those albums?

Ian Hunter: Defiance against ageism. I’m still going and not stopping. Rock and roll isn’t about age. It doesn’t matter whether you’re 20 or 100 when you’re playing rock and roll.

Rock Cellar: A wide range of high-profile musicians played on both Defiance albums. How did that influence your music on those albums?

Ian Hunter: Actually, the recording process on Defiance Part 2 was backwards from the usual approach. I started recorded the songs on guitar and piano with drum tracks from Taylor Hawkins, and it went from there. I sent the songs to the other musicians for their contributions.

Much more at the link.

And I want to link to my March 29 post about another recent interview with Ian, a much longer one: https://www.democraticunderground.com/1034117662
