(65,191 posts)Was still in my formative stages of lead guitar, so I was copying solos note for note.beung in a band with a woman singer, we did a handful of Pat tunes.
This one was not my favorite solo to play. But, the rhythm parts were really fun.

(65,191 posts)Hitting them & holding them was a different matter. She had some grit in her voice, si she was a real rock singer, not a musical theater type trying to do Heart.
She was difficult to work with & became increasingly angry as, by the other bandmates request, I became more featured as a lead vocalist. But geez, I was singing the high harmonies above her voice, so it's not like I couldn't sing.
My next band had a lead singer who was also a diva (but male), who independently recorded 3 songs he & I wrote but didn't credit me. I literally wrote 95 to 100% of the music, and the chorus lyrics on one of them.
After those 2 bands in a row, I pledged never to play in another band where the players couldn't sing or the singers couldn't play.
I ended up in about a year, playing with the same 3 other guys for nearly 20 years.
Those other 2 bands lasted 2 & 3 years!
I did like playing Benatar, Heart, Rondstadt (Mad Love era), but the experience of that band wasn't great.
