I was reacquainted to a very early metal band. Dust.

First some forward.
Dust was formed by Richie Wise and two gifted teenagers in 1971. The debut album featured some incredible bass work by Kenny Aaronson and the strong percussion of Kenny Bell. Guitarist Richie Wise was a record producer who produced many projects including the first couple Kiss albums.

Of the other two, bass player Kenny Aaronson went on after the band's demise to do touring and studio work with numerous groups. He currently plays for The New York Dolls. Marc Bell also went on to play in other bands before adopting his latest persona as Marky Ramone, drummer for seminal punk band The Ramones..

So there's a lot of street cred in Dust. I gave my copy to a good head banger friend decades ago. The album cover was stark, featuring charred corpses of the Holocaust. Dust was not subtle.

Dig this bass and stay for the hook.

The chord changes are very Iommi-like. The guitar player doesn't much like Tony, but the harmonic similarities are quite clear. (Wasn't nuts about the solo here, though.)
I love the feel when it kicks in at around 3 & ½ minutes.
You're right the bass part. Lots of good ideas, and super clear tone.
