They were scheduled to play with REO Speedwagon and the Eagles at the University of Northern Iowa SUNY Days concert (SUNY Days was the annual Spring celebration). They refused to perform when they found out the Eagles would close the show, instead of them. Simply stated, Fagen and Becker were dicks.
On the plus side, the Eagles played for 2 1/2 hours.

I have 2 or 3 of their albums. That does not change the fact that they disappointed a very large crowd because they didn't get their own way.
