I'm a piano player and I feel I can relate to his chord changes and song structures. I bought the vinyl "Night and Day" back in the early 80s and was hooked. "TV Age" and "Cancer" are pretty funny.

You should listen to "Live in New York". It was recorded at Joe's Pub in New York City in 2000. I've also got a double CD.

Considering the second song only reached #18 in the U.S. it was a surprise to hear it in a cheesy hamburger joint in Wharton. I vaguely remember hearing it in the 80s so if I hadn't of caught the lyrics in the chorus I would have missed out finding it on YouTube.

The first song was more familiar to me so I'm glad that I know who the performing artist is for the song. I remember the song from my club days in Austin so I associate a lot of great memories from that time.

Most of the current wave of performing artists are quite limited in their use of chord structure and using various time signatures in their arrangements. I'm glad that I posted a couple of hits that received a positive review since I know it is sometimes hit-and-miss regarding musical tastes. We will most definitely need to meet when I'm able to resolve my issues with SSDI. I have many people to meet and many things to do!

English musicians and bands tend to be better than Americans. They are steeped in culture over there and centuries of history, and I think it seeps into their pores.

"quite limited in their use of chord structure and time signatures" -- you're being generous and polite. Most of them are incompetent and think that sampling and borrowing snippets and auto-tune is composing. It's not.

I read on Joe Jackson's Wikipedia biography that he is an opponent to smoking bans in the UK so the piece certainly fits his agenda.
