And every one of them would have been the first to say so.
His performance of The Letter with Leon Russell is one of the greatest individual performances in rock.

Crazy though. One of my favorites. Huge influence on tons of singers and musicians. And really, he was a Brit ripoff of Ray Charles. I know that's hard to read as anything but an insult, but I can't describe it any other way. Love the guy.
