Music Appreciation
Related: About this forumFavorite musical theme from a motion picture
There have been several great ones and I could list a number of my favorites. There are films I can watch just for the pleasure of listening to the musical soundtrack. But above all others, if I can only list one, this is the one that has stuck with me since childhood. It is part of an epic movie from the golden age of epic films. In my opinion, based upon his impressive body of work including this my favorite score of his, I feel that Miklos Rozsa is the greatest film composer of all time.
The main theme doesn't really get under way until about 2/3 of the way in.

(35,961 posts)The theme to the Muppet Movie, or Ghostbusters....And then I remembered Reality Bites, which edged both other contenders out...
Just came back to add the theme from The Breakfast Club, which is even better than the Knack, and is really my favourite movie theme song...

Morricone is amazing - be it his more experimental stuff from the 60s or his lush work from the 80s. The Mission is incredible as well.

My sentimental favorite though, is True Romance: Two Hearts by Chris Isaak, and the Theme.
